As I elaborate the
beginnings of origami history on my previous post, now it's time to have
some tips and ideas on how it is made.
As a beginner like
me in the field of art and crafts focusing on origami, it is better to have
tips and ideas before jumping on doing it right away. Don't go like me, I did
some a lot of errors and redo's just
because of excitement I had, I just jumped on making it right away without some
basic knowledge for tips on making 3D origami. I just jumped between threshold of reaction over real action.
It is important to
have basic ideas about it so that you won't get redo's on making origami and
chances of cramp origami pieces. That is really one of my regrets anyway.
Here is the tips on
how to start making 3D origami
- Know how to fold the origami pieces.
Folding origami pieces is one tough work. A 1
piece of construction paper folded until I meet a 36-piece of small rectangle.
I really don't follow any size requirement anyway. Folded into half and half at
the same time and starting folding it into individual origami pieces.
- Know the kinds of bases.
When
the pieces are ready, start on making the "base" of the origami.
There is two way on making it.
- Small round base.
- Big round base
- Do some research.
Most
origami makers have their own way of making the art. They have different ratio
of sizes and counts of pieces targeting such design they have in mind. Just try
looking for the best art you wanted to look like but also don't hesitate on
making your own count.
Although, I owe
credit to the fanatics of 3D origami I
viewed on YouTube, I also try not to hesitate making my own. I just wanted to
be more comfortable of the art I made and satisfy my eyes of what I see as a
result to what I follow. So, try doing it. It will teach you more of values
like being patient and persevere of what you are aiming to do.
What in mind do you
want to start making 3D origami? A Disney character maybe or a simple swan?
Whatever it is, do
it for fun.
